install OS X from a clean hard drive
I replaced a dead hard drive in my iMac (G5, pre-webcam) with a brand-new hard drive. It's a Seagate 300 MB SATA drive, and I double-checked that it's properly connected physically.
I am now trying to install OS X using the installation CD that came with the computer. I boot with the CD and go through the "Install Mac OS X" dialog boxes until I get to "Select a destination volume to install the Mac OS X software" but there are no volumes to select from. The only option here is "Go Back", which of course is not useful.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!
