I'm having a problem installing software via GPO's

I've created a separate OU just for testing purposes, and moved 1 computer into that OU.  I created a "new" group policy, and "assigned" a softare package under the "computer configuration" section.  I've also made sure the "authenticated users" has "full control" over the location where the package is located. (even though they probably only needed read and execute).   I'm able to manually install this MSI file just fine.  But for some reason I keep getting the following errors in the event viewer.

EVENT ID 1085   "The Group Policy client-side extension Software Installation failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

and

EVENT ID 108  "Failed to apply changes to software installation settings.  Software changes could not be applied.  A previous log entry with details should exist.  The error was : There is no software installation data object in the Active Directory.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."
