I need to display a splash screen while the update queries are processing.  When I call the form only part of it displays.  It is like it is stuck!   How can I delay so that the full screen shows before the updates start.  Thanks

Dim frmSplash As New frmSplash
            Dim myParent = Me.MdiParent

            'replace Form1 with type of the MDI form
            With frmSplash
                .MdiParent = myParent
                .Show()
            End With

Call DoEvents() after Show():

            Dim frmSplash As New frmSplash
            With frmSplash
                .MdiParent = Me.MdiParent
                .Show()
            End With
            Application.DoEvents()
            ' ... more code ....
