Fedora Core 5 Webbrower is slow ( I think it's DNS lookup)
When i try to use a webrowser it is extremely slow in FC5x64 using Firefox and gnome.
I have already disabled ip6 here's what happens when i type ifconfig:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:03:25:35:1B:AE
inet addr:192.168.1.100 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1

TX packets:200 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:230456 (225.0 KiB) TX bytes:65271 (63.7 KiB)

lo Link encap:Local Loopback
inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0

collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:2095146 (1.9 MiB) TX bytes:2095146 (1.9 MiB)
i've already added alias net-pf-10 off
to my /etc/modprobe.conf:
alias eth0 sky2
alias snd-card-0 snd-atiixp
options snd-card-0 index=0
options snd-atiixp index=0
remove snd-atiixp { /usr/sbin/alsactl store 0 >/dev/null 2>&1 || : ; }; /sbin/modprobe -r --ignore-remove snd-atiixp
alias net-pf-10 off
Here is my resolve.conf:
search accesscomm.ca
nameserver 142.165.21.5
nameserver 142.165.200.5
nameserver 204.83.142.2
If you know how to fix my slow internet problem please let me know thx.

mmm. just an advice.. put another IP address the ip address 100 is the default for many access points and some times make a conflict with your machine

Wow this fixed it how did you know this?
i have 13 years of experience ;) just kidding you need to check the thinks that NOT depend of you. maybe one of the dns server sent your queries to the bottom of the queue and this delay your navigation.
