session handling

hi,
i want to use sessions in my web, so i understand there r 2 ways to handle their id: cookies and url.
as far as i know the cookies way is safer, so why in forums i see that they use the url to get the session id?

Well, you can 'manually' add the session id to the URL via GET and use it to continue the session in the next page.
