Lock up @ post with 3 sata drives installed.... help!
My server has a asus A8n5x with 4 sata ports.
Ive been using the sata1 and sata2 ports for a few months now with no problems.
A few weeks ago I purchased a 300gb sata sata2 hard drive and installed it. The computer would post, show me the first bios screen with the energy star logo, cpu speed, memory, and a listing of the installed hard drives with the new 300g sata drive showing in sata port 3.
But that’s it, I couldn’t get into the bios and the computer would just hang there.
I returned the drive and ordered a different one, this time a 400g sata2 seagate, now im having the exact same problem. Ive looked thru EVERY option I can think of in the bios.
The weird thing is if I only have a total of 2 sata drives in the computer no matter what sata port i use everything works fine, but as soon as i throw in a 3rd sata drive i get this problem..
Think its just a bad board?
