Getting CPU and RAM

Hi All,

How can i get the CPU clock and RAM for the server and client machine?
I am quite new to java / jsp, any ideas for how to get those information? thanks a lot!

you can't for the client

for the server, you would have to write a library in C, C++ or similar, and then call it with JNI

Or, find a standalone console app which does it for you, invoke it with Runtime.exec() and read the text it returns...

I think he meant CPU clock speed, not current time or a timer...

yes, i think it's not ok for detecting such information from client, but just ask to see if i can get any surprises :-p

so for getting server's cpu / ram, any examples that i can follow? because i google for a while, i couldn't find sth. suitable for me
