I am trying to create a data entry page interfacing to an Access DB. I have had some success with this in the past, but now it doesn't work. Each time I design the form and let FP create the DB ( I get the same error interfacing to an existing DB), I get the following error:

Server error: Unable to retrieve the list of record sources from a database using the connection string:

DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=URL=fpdb/Rego.mdb.

The following error message comes from the database driver software; it may appear in a different language depending on how the driver is configured.
-------------------------------------------------------

Source: ADO
Number: -2146824584 (0x800a0e78)

I am using FP 2003 and Access 203 and the database is in 2000 format.

Grateful for any assistance

Thanks

use the below connection string and make sure your database is in the folder fpdb.

DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=fpdb/Rego.mdb"

Hope this helps.

thank you for your help. I tried using the .ASP page and now it accepts all the data. However, the access database is not accepting the updates. I did not enter that connection string as I am unsure where it goes.

Is there something else I can try. Thanks

Can u post your code?

You'll need something like this near the top of your page, before you do anything to the DB:
<%
set cnn = server.createobject("ADODB.Connection")
cnn.open "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=fpdb/Rego.mdb"
%>

If it is failing to update because of permission problems, right click your fpdb folder and click on sharing and security and make sure that "Internet users" (something like that - i forget exactly what the user is called) has permissions to edit stuff in that folder.

If that still doesn't work, perhaps showing us your code will help us figure out what the problem is.

Problem was indeed related to the security of the fpdb folder. I changed the access for Internet Guest and bobs your uncle, it all worked as if by magic.

Thanks again
