Dreamweaver disrupts local webserver use.

I have been using notepad in windows to make some PHP pages and have been using Xampp intallation of apache as a local server to view them with explorer.
All was working well until I installed dreamweaver to help build the pages. I tried to view the pages with the preview function on dreamweaver but was unable to set up the details to make it work so i cant view the pages in this way.
To make things worse the files can no longer be viewed with explorer.....

If someone could help me with how to work ou tthe sutup of dreamweaver with a local server of how to stop it interfering with the operation of my local web server that would be great..

Hi ARC_UM,

1)  When using the local web server, what's the URL?

2) Please post the information you have in the Local, Remote, and Testing Server tabs of the DW site.

Sorry for the delay.

Yes I have managed to reconfigure the information about server so that it will now allow me to preview the files in DW. I still cannot open the php files directly through explorer though. It is as though dreamweaver blocks them somehow.
