Yes I have managed to reconfigure the information about server so that it will now allow me to preview the files in DW. I still cannot open the php files directly through explorer though. It is as though dreamweaver blocks them somehow.<br />

I have been using notepad in windows to make some PHP pages and have been using Xampp intallation of apache as a local server to view them with explorer.<br />
All was working well until I installed dreamweaver to help build the pages. I tried to view the pages with the preview function on dreamweaver but was unable to set up the details to make it work so i cant view the pages in this way.<br />
To make things worse the files can no longer be viewed with explorer.....<br />

If someone could help me with how to work ou tthe sutup of dreamweaver with a local server of how to stop it interfering with the operation of my local web server that would be great..<br />
