Need a good proprietary PHP based CMS...

Does anyone know of any really good proprietary PHP based or PHP supporting CMSs out there? This is for a VERY large website for a worldwide manufacturing company. The website would have many subsites. The corporation wants to have the CMS supported by the CMS manufacturer. The CMS must be flexable for varying levels of experience.

I've searched on the web but all I come up with are open source solutions like PHPnuke and others. Don't want open source for this one. Don't care how much it costs - within reason. I'm thinking something comparable with Ektron CMS, etc.

There are a number of options available too you.  One is called joomla that I've heard of, but never tried.  Another is phpnuke.net, which as it's used by thousands of webmasters, wouldn't be recommended for security concerns.  However, MDPro, available from www.maxdev.com is a combination of phpnuke, postnuke and an older fork available at postnuke.org.  There are many out there, I suppose what is important is to try them all out and see which one best meets your requirements.  Oh, another one I just remembered is called Mambo.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and I appreciate your answer but I'm not looking for open source and I don't have the luxury of trying them all out. I'm looking for a proprietary, out of the box solution that is maleable to many situations depending on how skilled the content owners are. Any ideas, anyone?

Also the solution can't be restricted to a MySQL database.

Didn't seem to get an answer to this question. I'm not sure what to do about this.

Hi Ortiggs,

Unforutnately I don't know of any proprietory packages that would fulfill your needs based on the above requirements.  I would perhaps recommend that you start talking to some web development companies who can script this up for you as that would be the fastest way to get something that was bespoke to you and your requirements.
