how can i stop the file thumbs.db  being created across directories?

Where it says:
"you can stop Thumbs.db from breeding any more: from the Folder Options dialog, simply check off "Do not cache thumbnails." Of course this will slow down rendering image thumbnails in Explorer, but that won't matter to those of us with fast computers who like to control what files go where."
