exchange setup

I have a server i installed and isnatlled exchange. there was already exchange in the network I installed, now I am beeing told I isntalled in incorrectly. what did i do wrong?

Based on the information that you have provided above, almost impossible to say.
Who is telling you that you installed Exchange wrong? Have they given you any reason why you installed it wrong?

Not exactly the biggest crime in the world - in fact you haven't done anything wrong.
Exchange installs by default in C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr

If you want it installed elsewhere then you have to say.

If "they" want it installed somewhere else then "they" should tell you so.

I usually install the Exchange application in to the default location, then move the databases and the transaction logs to their desired locations.
