can you use a file based repository for oracle application server 10g which i need to setup for discoverer or do i need a database to hold the metadata;

thanks alot for your help

If you're only using discoverer and other non-clusterable partner apps (e.g. forms, reports), then you don't need to install the infrastructure.  If a repository is needed, it will then use a file-based repository.
