Com+ Setup error

Hi!

My name is Berndt and I´m writing from Sweden. Some weeks ago when I tried to repair my Windows XP I recieved an error that says (I will try to translate from swedish):

"COM+ Setup Error

An error was for the part component COM+ when OC_COMPLETE_INSTALLATION-the install message was working.

d:\nt\com l x\Src\complussetup\comsetup.cpp (line 3406)

Error 0x8007007f

It´s impossible to find the mentioned procedure. It was unable to load the library C:\\Windows\System32\comuid.dll"

I hope this was understandable. I have a DELL Inspiron 8600. How will I be able to repair without recieving this message?

Thank you for your help

Sorry! But that didn´t solve the problem. I recieved the same error message and besides when the repair installation program ends the program is working but nothing happens. You can only see the hourglass that tells the computer is working but it never stops so you have to shut down the computer by force.

I can also mention that I have difficulties in installing patches from Microsoft Updates. Some of them succeed but some fail to install. I noticed that when I try to start Windows Installer in services error 997 arises. Could the first problem with repairing Windows affect this?

Since I discovered that new problem I think the new point value must increased to 500 points.
