HOW to restore the exchange backup

Hi i have AD and |E|XCHANGE backup file

which i copied from my old server which was crashed

how should i retrive it as the new one is also SERVER 2000 with exchange 2000 on it.

First off, you shouldnt be running Exchange on a DC ever except in a lab.

That aside, http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/41170/41170.html will help you get your feet wet with an authoritative restore of AD or the plain jane AD restore at http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/13384/13384.html.

is a good walkthrough I have had to do before.  

Be patient too and expect problems, but it's doable :-)

this procedure doesnt work as when i restore the AD it just stop our keyboard and mouse, so i installed the windows 2003 server and adding users on to it manually. is it okay or should i have to check for any other things.
