convert html character code to normal character

Is there an existing function in java that helps us to convert html character codes (eg: "&lt;", "&gt;" ) to normal character (eg: "<", ">")

I can solve the problem by hard coding the replacement, but I don't believe I'm the first man in the world want to do this, there must be a ready-to-use function for this !!
