Error: vs.net has detected that the specfic web server is not running asp.net 1.1

Hi experts,

I have iis installed and yet i receive the above error. does anyone know how i can resolve the above error.

Can you try

http://localhost 

if it returns default iis page, your iis is ok. then check the server name you put in the code, try change it to 'localhost'. if 'localhost' works, you have dns problem

none of these work,

i am looking at this

but i can't find my Web Service Extensions.
