(Graphics card problem) Screen flashing instantly at random times

My screen flashes for a very brief amount of time (less than a second) and then returns back to normal. This occurs randomly, but quite frequently lately. I tried using another monitor and the same thing happened so it must be the graphics card. Any suggestions?

HIS ATI Radeon X1600 PRO AGP 512MB, slightly overclocked (turning overclocking off did not help the problem), latest ATI drivers. I tried it on an AOC 19' CRT monitor (VGA port) and on a Viewsonic 19' LCD monitor (DVI port). Motherboard is ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe.

There have been some problems with ATI drivers for this card:

You could try earlier drivers as suggested in this post. Lots of people have issues with this series of cards:
