Hi rrahulgupta,

The MakeFile project in VS is more used for taking an old project that uses a make file and getting it working in VS. Generally you would not use MakeFile projects unless you have to. Why do you need one?

actually, i have to develop an api that will interact will mysql database.
so, for that i need to write couple of c files with makefile.
because i'm new to C language but have good idea in java programming and wriiten the same kind of api in java.
i want to let u know that currentely i'm using mingw-mysys to build the c project and not using any ide.
what should i do to implement in c language?

If you already have the C code building with a .mak file then you would be better to create an ordinary project and let VC work out the dependencies.

Create your project as a normal app. Add your sources to it and build it. Deal with the problems as you find them.

If you dont know how to create a project, get VC to create a 'hello world' project and work from there.

What problems do you get when you try this?
