MSI Error 2711 During Install
Hi,
My customer has an hp deskjet 3650 running on a windows 98se computer.
Recently he had to reinstall win98se. the problem is when I try to install the drivers from the cd the installation freezes. I then tried to download the drivers from the hp.com website and got the message internal error 2711. CueIntegration.
HP gave me the following instructions:
ttp://h10025.www1.hp.com/e wfrf/wc/ge nericDocum ent?lc=en& lang=en&cc =us&docnam e=c0004848 9 with three possible solutions.
Some solutions (2 & 3) depend on M$'s knowledge base.
When I do solution 1 I get up to item 4 on the checklist ...
When I do item 4 of solution 1
"4. For Windows 98 and ME, double-click the instmsia.exe file."
It says service already exist and the instructions are to try solution 2 and 3 which don't work either for different reasons including one solution no longer available on M$ knowledgebase.
HP suggest I contact M$ but I am concerned that when I ring they will say it is no longer supported and/or want money. My customer wants a solution on a budget.
Is it worth removing the service and reinstalling? If so how do I remove a service in win98se?
Any ideas welcome.
