Make File in link not be seen

How I can configure my Apache to interpret links like:
http://wow.pixelrage.ro/?p=admin
as
http://wow.pixelrage.ro/index.php?p=admin

If you make the line in the apache configuration file

DirectoryIndex index.php index.htm index.html

then it will interpret the index.php as the root file for the folder and as such /?p=admin should work

Ok now If i write ?p=admin page opens, but the adress gets modified into index.php?p=admin. How I can make it to not add index.php in the adress ?
