Hi all, trust you are well.

I have a client whos server need to communicate to another server or a particular ip address through(?) and particular port, in this case 20365

I have a Protocol Definition for the port TCP outbound on this port. But it still doesnt work?

Any better ways/or ways to check whether the server in fact is getting "out" ?

Is this ISA 2000 or 2004?  

You need to create an Outbound Access Rule (and maybe an INbound as well?

ISA 2000 and i did....

I can ping the relevant ip but i cant telnet ip port - unless that not the way to check whether port is open....

Maybe i should recreate the rule? And i make it TCP correct?

also the thing is the workstations work through this port fine - jsut not the server

Jeff, its working.

I recreated the rule but using IP Filter....instead of Protocol Rules.

Maybe one day i will know the difference!
