Skashif,

Have you gotten a resolve on this? I'm having the same problem and it only started about one month ago. No changes were made at my end or on the Exchange Server (I'm the administrator of the Exchange Server) other than standard Windows Updates. I have performed a full reset of my handheld to no avail. I'm using a Verizon XV6700 with ActiveSync 4.2.

You would think that others are having this problem as well.

For what it's worth, I am NOT checking the SSL checkbox in my ActiveSync connection nor do I have a certificate installed in IIS for mobile device access. So I don't think that it si a certificate issue in my case. Everything worked fine until recently. As "skashif" noted, wireless syncing (through direct push) is working fine.

Cheers,

Keith

ActiveSync was unable to reach the server.  Check that the server address and proxy server settings are correct.

I should also add that I have tried deleting the partnership and uninstalling and re-installing ActiveSycn, all to no avail.

At this point I'm planning to wait a bit and see if this was just a side effect of a MS security update or if another fix comes through. Since direct push continues to work, I'm getting things on my handheld, so the problem isn't urgent. But it annoys me that I get this message everytime I plug the device into my computer and the perfectionist side of me would like to get this minor annoyance solved!

Cheers,

Keith
