Anyone deal with / have any opinion about smallbizserver.net ?  It is worth the $120 / 1 year subscription for access to all the articles?

I use them all the time... and while I sometimes disagree with their opinions, there's no question that $120.00 is a value.  You have to consider that using the resources available on their site can save you a tremendous amount of time and effort over the course of a year.  If you find that it doesn't, then you've only wasted $120.00 because you don't have to renew.

FYI - I just went to signup and the price is now $154.24 at today's exchange rate.  I emailed them asking why the increase and their response was:

"The price is Euro 99 and in the last 6 month the exchange rate between Euro
and Dollar changed a lot. I can't help that, you will need to complain at Mr.
Bush and his administration.

Unbelievable that you would blame them for the change in the exchange rate.  Mariette is a very nice person, and she is often accused of being direct in her comments... perhaps that's the Dutch in her coming through.  But to be honest, its you that are losing out here.

I don't believe I blamed anyone, merely commented that the rates had gone up.  The documentation I found said it was $120.00 for an annual membership.  When I completed the checkout, the total was $154.24.  I emailed asking why there was a difference and received a political response.  She may well be a "very nice person", but I found her comment to be unprofessional and rude.

Their rates have NOT gone up.  They have remained at EUR99.00.  Only the Exchange Rate has changed... and there isn't anything that the can do about that... it very much IS a political issue.

i have had a subscription for a while and wouldn't trade it for many other site subscriptions when it comes to SBS. it costs more not because of their policy but because the U.S. Dollar is in the toilet, but i suppose according to your buddy no doubt, Rush Limbaugh, it's probably Obama's fault.

Rude indeed, look up RUDE AMERICAN in the dictionary. Oh, a picture of signals. :-)

Maybe you don't call it blame, but it's the perfect example of shooting the messenger. As TechSoEasy points out, your lose. In so many ways.
