How can I test the health of backup DAT tapes with BackupExec 9.1?

I've got a client using a windows SBS 2003 who runs BackupExec 9.1. Several of the backup jobs are failing because of media mount problems and I'm suspecting that some of the DAT tapes they're using are simply worn out. How can I easily prove this? Is there some utility in BE 9.1 I can use to test the health of a backup tape? I'm looking around but haven't found anything yet. Thanks.

I'm not sure about whether BE can test the media, but often the tape drive manufacturer will have a utility to do so.  However, I think the easiest way to "PROVE" this would be to use a new tape and if it doesn't fail, then you have your answer.
