Im looking to see if this reg key    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Yahoo\pager" exist, not worried about any inside content, and have a box say yes, or no

Try this:

reg QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Yahoo\pager >NUL 2>&1

if ERRORLEVEL 1 echo Not found&goto :EOF

echo Found it
