Hello Experts

Is there a setting in Dreamweaver Code Mode that lets me see perferably related bracked tags such as <div> </div>   <table> </table>.

In other words when I am in code view if I highlight my mouse over a </div> it will indicate somehow the related <div>

Alternatively if there is a dreamweaver extension that will also do this I would appreciate a link to that.

Thanks

Hi Rowby,

There isn't a function or an extension to do exactly what you ask, but there are a number of ways to select code based on tags.

The most common is to use the code tree which is under the code window.  It displays the nest of tags from the top level to the current level.  For instance, you may see something like this at the bottom of the screen:

<body> <table> <tr> <td.class> <table> <tr> <td.class2><form#newsletter><p>

Click on any of those tags and DW will respond by highlighting all code in between and inclusive of the tag clicked.  So if I clicked the <p> above, DW would highlight the whole paragraph, including the opening and closing tag.

The same feature is found on the Coding toolbar as "Select Parent Tag."  Click on the code and then click on that button and DW will highlight the code block including the opening and closing tag one level up from the cursor.
