Design storefront locally software

I have run into a huge problem with the company that is my web host and domain registrar.  Following is a summary of my situation and what I need.

My domain name has been placed in delete pending status.  I have made steps to get the name back, but will not have it until Tuesday.  I then will be changing to a new webhost.  The store is set up on MCart 2005.  I would also like to switch to a new program to recreate parts of my storefront.  I presently have dreamweaver and am o.k. at html.

I have chosen a new webhost who is helping me out with the mess.  I can't do a lot until the domain is back in my name.  Until then, I would like to be working on my store.  Is it possible to have software that I could use to create my store locally and then direct it to my domain once it is set up with the host?

Thanks for any help you can give me...

What you need is some web server software. If your running XP Pro you'll have a program called Internet Information Server (IIS). You may need to install it from your original disk though as it's not part of the standard install. Just go the the control panel / Add remove programms / Add remove windows components / IIS. Once you've done that you just need to copy your files to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\. Then you can browse it by typing http://localhost rather then the live domain name.

If your not using XP Pro try Personal Web Server at...

You could also try apache but I persoanlly have no experience of this and would have no idea how user friendly it is.
