Pad Lock

Hi all

I have a Gateway 450 ROG laptop with windows XP pro and is connecting to the Network, every time I turn on the laptop and it boot to the Logon screen, the Pad lock lit is turned on automatic, same as I logoff. it's so ennoying to disable it manually(Fn &F9), is there way to disable it?

Thanks

I think you're referring to the numlock being turned on by default.  You can change this in the BIOS.  Enter the BIOS when the computer is booting up by pressing the F2 key (it should tell you when to press it.  Just be ready as soon as you power on your laptop.)

I found it in the registry.  thank you for your help
The PADLOCK key on the Gateway 450ROG is NOT the NUMLOCK key.  The system PADLOCK feature is invoked by pressing <Fn> and <F9> simultaneously.  When this combination is pressed the u,i,o,p,j,l,;,m,,,.,/ keys become a keypad on the keyboard.  Pressing the combination again toggles the keypad off.  The <Fn> and <F9> combination has nothing to do with the NUMLOCK function key.
