What could cause this to happen?

The funny thing is... we moved files on Sat. Monday everything was normal and we have snapshots of the permisson inheritance was fine. This morning the permissions changed...

Depends on if you Move, Copy or Xcopy and whether the location is on the same hard drive or different drives, etc.  Please be a tad more specific.

we are using this program called script logic and it copys all the files down to the permission.
We copy the files daily to the Netapps and also runs snap shots every four hours.

We did the job on Sat and everything was working on Monday. However today, we got calls from couple dept that they could not access their files.

After we looked into it. We found the following"
1. the permissions were removed from the files ( Randomly )
Weird thing is:

Once the files were copied to the NetApps, it should grant the local admin teh access to the files. However, on some of the folders, that access was also removed.

IN summary, from both the live data and from the copy of Netapps. The permissions were not correct.

I have never used Script Logic, but from what I read, it uses Xcopy and various switches to perform tasks.
