Backup problem - verfy problem etc

Hi,

I'm having backupexec 10. The backup fails sometimes when B2700.dfr is in use - that is not a problem, but a few days back the backup takes 15 hours instead of 1,5 hours. The verify part is the part of the backup that takes time. If backupexec cannot backup b2700.dfr why does it try to verify that file than?

Here are the error parts from the log:

Verify Set Detail Information
WARNING: "B2700.dfr" is a corrupt file.
This file cannot verify.

I would just exclude that file from selection and manually back it up as needed.

If that does not solve the problem you will need to look deeper.

I had a similar issue. The way I got over it was I created an exception list and included that in my backup selection. So it does not backup the file. Its a license file that keeps a track of users accessing Data Flex. I just assumed that in the event of a disaster, I will have to reinstall the software or may be it is a temp file that gets created on application start up and acts like a lock file. Worth ignoring is what I chose to go with. Here is  my thought on it. Good luck if you were able to solve the problem since I see this thread has been closed long time back but I just accidentally stumbled on it.
