I have a script step that I'm stuck on.  I have a dialog that will show 2 dates and 1 time for editing.  once it's changed (or left the same)  I would like to be able to format the data into a mm/dd/yy format rather than the default mm/dd/yyyy format (by the way, is there a way to change those defaults?)

I would also need to check the validity of these dates.  I was looking at the IsValid but it looks like its just checking for the presence of data in the field and not if its correctly formated unless I'm using it wrong.

I will need to do some other checking as well but if I get through this one then I should be alright on my own again.

Thanks!

Under the format menu there is a date option. Using this you can format the date in any number of ways. I believe that you can change the default by not selecting any field and then change the date format to the one you want. All subsequent date fields added to the layout should be in the desired format.

If you format the field as date it will check to be sure that it is a valid date before it will accept the change. if this happening during a script step you want to include the "Set error Capture" script step to On. Display a message if an error happens then return the user to the same layout to correct the mistake.
