reading url in action script

how can i replace or add a url parameter using actionscript please.

if the current webpage is index.asp?lang=fr

in need to change it to index.asp?lang=en

but my swf file goes on every webpage so i need to dynamically get the current url and only change the lang parameter how do i do this please
