Make sure that you have the Library Option agent for your BackupExec.  Without that agent it will not recognize your new library.

There are several ways to accomplish this task;

1> If the software is installed somewhere you can go to the "tools" pull down menu and choose "Serial numbers and installation".  if you step through this wizard a couple of "next" screen and you will see all of your licensing.  make sure you see the library expansion module.

2> If you haven't installed the software anywhere you will want to look at the paper licenses they sold you.  Or if you bought on the open license program you have a 8.5 X 11 paper that has all of your licensing on it.

3> If neither of these methods work and the software is installed you can run the "install remote agents" wizard and you should get a similar result to option 1 above.

After you have confirm that you have the module to make this library unit work then I need some information about your server to hel pyou with the install.

Like waht OS is the server running?
Is it a domain controller?

Yes this license is an extra cost.  The retail price can vary from $1041.00 USD to $251.00 USD depending on the type of license you already have and if you are upgrading or not.  These license option also have the option of extended support.  There are many ways of getting the cost of this option.  I can look it up as a dealer from Symantec, you can contact Symantec directly and the pre-sales folks will give you part numbers and cost or your tape drive dealer probably has all of this info for you also.

I sure hope this is helpful, by the way what service packs are on your Windows 2000 server and is it a PDC or BDC (domain controller)?
