To change the path of the IE cache is to go through the Internet Explorer User Interface manually(IE->Options->General->Settings->Move Folder).

There are registry keys holding the path, and you can change them to be your own desired path. However, the "Temporary Internet Files" is not just a folder, it’s a shell extension and it’s not used by IE only.

Have a look at following registry keys probably you need to change them programatically :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\Paths

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\Paths

The solution specified above to change cache path via registry keys works :

you just need to change following registry keys programatically :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\Paths

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\Paths

if you try to change folder manually using IE->Options->General->Settings->Move Folder you will see changes in above registry keys.
