The following article describes a n-tier dataaccess approach using the ASP.NET 2.0 ObjectDataSource.  I'm looking for an example in C# - any ideas?

Why don't you try a VB to C# code converter if you don't feel confident doing this yourself? The article content remains relevant, and it seems pretty well written at first glance. There's one piece of software here:

The demo version probably does all you need.
