Creating A Windowless WindowThread

I am trying to write a windows program in which my main window program will create a second windows program thread to monitor some network messages.  Basically, I want this second windows program to be windowless - that is its primary purpose is to monitor and respond to certain messages it receives  My basic structure for a Windows program is as follows:

So, how do I modify this code so that I can place it in a thread to create a windowless window?

Quite simple - change

   ShowWindow (hwnd, iCmdShow) ;

to

   ShowWindow (hwnd, SW_HIDE) ;

and the window won't be shown.
