I am trying to learn socket prog in java. I was trying these for simple web proxy, but it did not work, any idea where would be the problem:

http://members.lycos.co.uk/mylittleme/java/HttpRequest.htm
http://members.lycos.co.uk/mylittleme/java/HttpResponse.htm

compile: javac -deprecation *.java

Also any good helpful links to java sockets with examples would be helpful.
Thanks
