Veritas is not backing up log files; it says they are in use.  How do I get around this?

I have Veritas Backup version 10 Rev 5484 with SP 4.

When I back up my servers they back up fine with exceptions.  When I view the exceptions I find that there are about 40 or so files that say they are in use.  Roughly 90 to 95% of those in use files are .log files.  Is there a setting that does not touch log files?

How can I set it up to back up the files regardless as to whether they are running or not?

Dear tjmichael,
You need to Advanced file open option in Veritas to take the complete backup without missing any files. If you are using just remote agent then backup will not take the backup of files which are locked like your log files.

Cheers!

Sorry for my ignorance in this product, but is that a separate purchase of Varitas or is it an add on from the disk?
