I am using MS Word as my e-mail editor.

For some unknown reason it now hangs at the sceen "opening Word as your e-mail editor"

It worked perfectly for past 3 years up until today.

I have read about a similar problem posed in january this year but am unable to do the accepted answer as i am unable to remane the normal.dot file.

Greetings, Inkie !

What are you not able to rename or delete normal.dot file?  Cannot find it? It is a hidden file, so you need to search hidden folders or unhide hidden files to see the file. Open Windows Explorer folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders". Click OK.

Best wishes!

Inkie,

Make sure MS Word is closed when you try to rename normal.dot file.  If you cannot rename it, delete it.

Hi Guys,

Sorry for not replying sooner but I've been out of town and have only just returned.

The last message I received was from war1 but I never had the time to do as he said.

Anyway, when I returned and turned on my computer, the problem seems to have disappeared.

I don't know how this came about. Maybe someone can explain it

Kind regards,

Inkie

Inkie,

Glad the problem has gone away.  Test your computer thoroughly, to prevent it from reoccurring.
