Email with threads within the message prints out each thread on a separate page

A user has an Email message when printed out prints over many pages. Each new page coincides with each individual reply. How can this behaviour be turned off?
Other email without replies print OK

The printer has been deleted and reintyalled on the users PC. The user uses Outlook 97.

Greetings, cgaffney !

Disable the threaded view.  Go to View > Arrange By > Current View.  Select Messages. Now try to print a message.

If you had made the change, restart the computer to make sure the change is set in Windows.

A reboot does not fix the problem.

Some program is interfering with Outlook or a file in Outlook is corrupt.
1. Reset the Outlook toolbar template. With Outlook close, do a search for and rename outcmd.dat file. Restart Outlook.

Outcmd.dat is located in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder. It is a hidden file, so you have to unhide hidden files. Go to any folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders". Click OK.

2. Register an important Outlook file. Go to Start > Run and type regsvr32 OLE32.DLL
Do the same for INETCOMM.DLL

3. Disable Outlook Addins.  Go to Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Addin Manager or COMM/Addins and disable the addins.

4. Check if an external program running in the background is interfering with Outlook. Check Firewall, antivirus, antispyware, antispam, and all Norton programs. Disable these programs one at a time.

5. Create a new Outlook profile.

6. Repair Outlook. With Outlook open, go to Help > Detect and Repair.

7. If no joy, reinstall Outlook.  Go to Add/Remove Programs and highlight Microsoft Office. Click on Install/Uninstall.  A menu will pop allowing you to choose repair or reinstall.

Have worked through steps 1 to 6 without any joy. Same problem. The emails that are printing out are HTML documents and I think there is some setting that allows printing each reply on a separate page. However, I have not been able to find it.

If the user turns of threaded view, then he should be able to print the one email. With the message selected, click on View in the top menu, Arrange by > Current View.  Unselect "By Conversation Topic".  Click OK.
