Hello,
i have a dell xps-400 with 2.8---1 gig 667 ram, and i noticed lately that my pc seems to be running slow. So i opened up norton system info. and i see that ssu.exe is using 1281 MB.!! what is it? can I stop it? where as windows 32sys only uses 60 MB. I think that's why i get high cpu usage at times when i think i shouldn't be? If you need more info. please ask... and thanks for the help. I'm going to be checking for answers every 15 minutes.

davekuhar,

ssu.exe is a process related to Webroot Spysweeper.

If this is causing a problem on your pc, you should talk to their tech support:

www.webroot.com/pdf/support_ent_ds_010906.pdf

BTW, there are also reports of this process being hijaxcked/imitated by malware:

You might do better posting a related question in the "Windows Security" TA...
