Multi page sub report view problem

I'm using Crystal Reports XI. I have a main report that passes its parameters to a cross-tab sub report which was inserted into the main reports header section. Everything is working fine except I can only see one page of the cross tab. I have tried all combinations of the keep together option in both main and sub with no luck. I had this working yesterday where there were multiple pages within the subreport and I was able to click the next page button to view. Somehow some setting was changed and I can't seem to get that feature back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the SECTION EXPERT and examine the options for the HEADER SECTION.

Thanks for the quick post MikeV

In the main report the header has free-form checked and all other options unchecked.
Sub report has can grow and close border on page break checked, all other options unchecked.
What should the options be set to for the main report and the sub report? I have tried all combinations of keep together on/off between the main and sub reports.  on/on, on/off, off/on, off/off

Free form placement and keep together should be checked in the header section

Sub report should be formatted to:
CAN GROW, KEEP TOGETHER AND CLOSE BORDER ON BREAK.

Mine is working here....what are the other sections setup to do in the main report.

Main has two group sections for the purposes of cascading prompts. The main's only purpose is so the cascading prompts get passed to the sub report as lovs to be used as parameters to a stored procedure. All sections except the header are suppressed in the main. The sub report works fine stand alone, however without the main, the user would have to type in values for those parameters rather than selecting from a drop down.

I just tested with the sub set to can grow, keep together, close border. I tested twice, once with the main's report header keeo together on, and again with it off. No luck with either. What else could it be?

Ok..I think you'll need to test the OTHER sections in the main report by NOT suppressing them. I think you'lll find your fix there....I didn't catch that you were suppressing the REPORT FOOTERS as well...but try UNsuppressing them first....see if that fixes it..

No luck unsuppressing the footers. I played around with other sections with no luck either. Any other thoughts?

Not sure what else to say other than UNSUPPRESS EVERYTHING.in your main report...and start from scratch....

OH and be sure that your SUBREPORT...has the crosstab placed in the HEADER SECTION...just like you are placing it in the MAIN REPORT.....ok?

Again, I use CRXI and mine is working properly.....

Yes, the crosstab was in the header section. I think I see what's going on. When I first open the report in Crystal and run it,  the main report is in focus and shows only the portion of the subreport that will fit in the header. I had to actually click on the subreport and refresh again there to see the full view or virtual pages of the crosstab. That's not acceptable, espcecially with the timing issue to process the records twice. I changed the subreport to be an on demand subreport. The main runs faster and when I click on the subreport link, it shows the all virtual pages.
