Hi,

My Organization has three different forest and there is no trust relationshop between them.

1.abc.com
2.xyz.net,
3.def.org

Each forest has its own Exchange server.

Now I have given task to merge these forest into one single forest, so that users can access network shares with one single login and password.

Is there any solution for that ?

Thanks,

Sohail

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no way to actually merge 3 forests into one single new forest. On the other hand, if your 3 forests are under 2K3 AD, you can take great advantage of this 2K3 specific feature : cross-forest trust.

In that case, the forest functional level needs to be raised to 2K3, absolute complete native mode. If you can comply with this requisite, you'l have good ol' transitive trusts, just like you would have between domains in a single forest, but with 3 different schemas.

Please let me know if you need more info.
