odbc connection problems with oracle

Hi guys.
I have a big problem here

I have oracle 8.1 runing a connection in several bentley design series software

But one of the machines isn't connect via odbc , i can't succed the connection, all the other machines have the same configuration, but this one refuse the connection,
I succed the connection using  the oracle net configuration assistant, but in the windows odbc configuration i cant reach the connection.

I have the next error message.

Unable to connect
sqlstate=08004
[ORACLE][ODBC][ORA]ORA-1254: TSN: Could not resolve service name

Hi,

This appears that they may have a different tns file - than your other clients.

this should be called tnsnames.ora - I would copy this from one of the clients that works and substitute this on the other machine.

With oracle you are trying to connect to a named location with the driver - if the named location is not in the tnsnames.ora file then the oracle client does not have the instructions to connec to the database.  Normally you add entries to this file the more different oracle databases you wish to connect to.

ok i find this file in the client machine that works well?
 and replace in that one that isnt work
but before in the error machine i need to delete de bad odbc configuration or something else
or what's the right procede?
