Receiving error messages with DVD Shrink or NERO 7 while burning DVD's

I have 5 applications that can be used for CD/DVD burning.  Nero 7 Ultra, DVD Shrink, Windows Media Player 11, Pinnacle Studio 10 MediaSuite, and Creative.  Recently, I made a home movie with Pinnacle with no problems.  I had been asked to supply copies of the movie to various family members.  When copying DVD's I use either DVD Shrink or Nero 7.  This is my problem; when trying to use DVD Shrink the video preview window displays the video, the progress bar immediately indicates a full progression, the time and framerate go completely crazy showing random numbers.  This also occurs in Nero 7.  After scanning the entire DVD with DVD Shrink I receive and error message (DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue - Failed to read file F:\ Invalid access to memory location).  With Nero 7 the error message reads - (an unknown error occurred in the asynchronous file reader).  Can anyone help in resolving this issue?  Thank you in advance for any help, I'm desperate!

can you test with another dvd.. an original? this is so to see whether the problem lies within your DVD or the DVD drive itself..

Thanks to anyone who may have been evaluating my problem.  It appears that I have resolved the issue.  Apparently, the Pinnacle Studio 10 MediaSuite has an application called Instant DVD Recorder/Instantwrite that installs a driver for access to my optical drives.  Please excuse my lack of knowledge in this area, but the best way for me to describe "what I think was happening," is the Pinnacle driver had been overriding my other DVD/CD burning software or causing driver conflict.  I opened the WinXP msconfig utility and shut down the Pinnacle InstantWrite application and tried to burn my DVD with DVD Shrink.  Lo and Behold, it worked!  I would be interested in knowing if this is a prevalant problem and what the root cause is.  Thanks again to anyone who had been investigating this problem.
could have been as you said.. conflicts with the drivers. sometimes problems can occur with "drop and drag" burn functionality.. pinnacle may have had this enabled. in any case the problem is resolved. try to keep the apps to a minimum! :)
