Linking to a database in normally done by linking table(s) using ODBC.
Why do you want to use the DoCmd.Transferdatabase statement for this objective ?

Thank you for replying. I used the following line of code to fix the problem.

DoCmd.TransferDatabase acLink, "DBase IV", FolderPath, acTable, DatabaseNameWithExtension, TableNameInAccess

Hmm, learning something new :-)
I only used this command to create a new database with copied tables and for linking tables I use the TableDef object and the .connect property followed by a .refreshlink method.
