I managed to get the s-video out on my laptop to work, so i can view
my screen on the tv, but whenever I go to play a DivX video or any
other video clip on the laptop, either in WMP or DivX player, the
area where the video is supposed to be showing is black. The video
plays on my monitor, but on the tv it's only black. However, if I
play a quicktime file in quicktime, it will show up on the tv also.
 Any ideas?

This also happens when I use a monitor cable(RGB) to my plasma tv as well.
