500pts: SETUP project installs but when i launch the program it does some more installing :-(

Hi there,

i hope someone can help... I have been producing a SETUP for a program i am developing and everytime i install it, it would install and then i launch the icon and away we go...

But lately now it runs the setup and says its finished and i launch the program with the icon but it does a little more installing... It does this only one... but its annoying...

The only thing different i think .... is that i have a new dll i created called Helper which has some references to system.drawing..

Any ideas how to get rid of this problem...

I hope someone can help

Yes this is a windows app and it is .net 1.1 with visual studio 2003

Did u use Setup and Deployment project to build a setup program...? What is the Target system's Configuration on which the program is installed.

yes .. its an existing project that i just rebuild each time.. i didn't create it .. but yes i believe it is a setup and deployment project.

The target systems config ... is as always.. windows xp....

It's really difficult to debug in this kind of Setup and Deployment project...unless it is built using Orca or some other script based installers through which u can track each pahse of deployment...My suggestion out of the box is Remove the Existing Deployment project or maybe keep it and add a new setup and deployement project for your windows app. It's pretty simple to do this. Try installing this new one and check it out
