OS  XP HOME and  SP2
I've just installed a  USB Smartcard reader from ACS the ACR38 USB  reader, everythings is OK drivers installed and when I got to Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager ->  under Smart card readers also everything OK.
When I go to the Event Viewer there are error in the Service Control Manager " The eID Privacy Service service terminated unexpectedly"  EVENT ID 7034 and also another error " Smart Card Reader 'ACS ACR38U 0' rejected IOCTL EJECT: The request is not supported."  Event ID 610.
Somebody to help with those problems ?
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Ryebel,
I think this is related to "Domain Authentication" problems.
We use CAC authentication in all of our Domains and Forests and XP Home is not designed to work that way.

Home version can work OK in a Workgroup and kind of OK in a small home network, but not in a Domain.

Post back if you have questions.

LeeTutor,
I am 99 and 64/100th sure the 'Domain' answer is the correct one.
Would sure like for Ryebel to check back in and confirm.

Thanks,
Vic
